- Clete EdmunsonAssociated Logging Contractors of Idaho
Bio
Clete’s love for Idaho runs as deep as his family roots. With a long family history that began in Idaho's early mining and logging industries, Clete’s ties to the land have always remained solid. Growing up the son of a logger molded Clete into who he is today. Clete was proud to follow in his dad’s footsteps cutting logs all over Idaho and Alaska before shifting to a career in education. With a firm belief and commitment to educating Idaho's next generation, Clete dedicated himself to teaching and coaching. Clete encouraged his students to participate in the political process. While they in turn pushed him to run for office. Clete successfully won a seat in Idaho's House of Representatives, beginning a successful political career. With three terms under his belt, Clete accepted a position as Special Assistant to Governor Otter where he advised on major issues including education and transportation. The desire to finish a master’s degree prompted Clete’s temporary departure from politics and led him back to the classroom and then eventually into school administration. In 2024 Clete closed the chapter on a successful 30-year career in education. With his eyes on the prize, Clete landed his dream job and is back to his roots, working with loggers and haulers as the Executive Director of the Associated Logging Contractors. This is a position that combines all Clete’s logging, political and educational experiences to provide leadership for a group who helped build our great state of Idaho. - Blake ManleyManley Jobs
